Parkside Guest House In Arnside Is Situated In An Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Arnside itself is a very pretty village which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The promenade is lined with interesting gift shops and scrumptious tea rooms. Listen out for the siren which indicates the Arnside Bore is due, a tidal phenomenon which is a must see! Being part of an AONB it has Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) because of the rare flora and fauna. The rare Duke of Burgundy butterfly can be found at Gait Barrows Reserve, wetland birds and otters can be found at Leighton Moss.

There are many lovely wooded walks around Arnside Knott. Walking around the coast towards the small village of Silverdale will give you views across to Grange over Sands with the Lakeland hills beyond. Whatever your interests staying with us at Parkside in Arnside will give you the base to explore all that the Lake District has to offer.

Directions to Parkside Guest House from the motorway:

  1. Exit M6 motorway at Junction 35
  2. Turn left (from northbound, right from southbound) onto the A601(M).
  3. At the island, turn right onto the A6 towards Milnthorpe.
  4. At the traffic lights in Milnthorpe, turn left onto the B5282 and carry on for approximately 3-4 miles. At the T-juntion, turn right passing the railway station and carry on round the waterfront of Arnside following the road. Bear left at The Albion pub.
  5. Carry on up the hill on Silverdale Road until it levels out, turn right into Redhills Road opposite Avery’s Food Store (signposted The Grange, The Knott, YHA).
  6. The Guest House is approximately half a mile along Redhills Road on the left (just after Lawrence Drive).
  7. To get to the car park, carry on past Parkside and turn next left into Parkside Drive and then take the first left onto the car park.

Directions to Parkside Guest House from Arnside train station:

By car (approximately 1 mile) –

  1. Head northwest on Station Rd/B5282 toward The Promenade
  2. Continue to follow B5282
  3. Slight left onto Silverdale Rd
  4. Take the 3rd right onto Red Hills Rd
  5. Parkside Guest House will be on the right

On foot (approximately 1 mile) –

  1. Head northwest on Station Rd/B5282
  2. Turn left toward Orchard Rd
  3. Turn right onto Silverdale Rd
  4. Turn left onto Red Hills Rd
  5. Parkside Guest House will be on the right
