About Parkside Holidays
Set in the picturesque village of Arnside, Parkside Guest House offer a range of relaxing themed holidays.
Our History
Grey Court an attractive house standing about a mile inland from Morecambe Bay, high above the coastal plain. From almost every one of its large windows you have uninterrupted views of the Bay and the Cumberland hills. The house was put up for sale in May 1935 and soon became the property of a Lancashire business man. He had no desire to live in it himself but glimpsed the possibilities of helping those less fortunate. Unemployment was rife at this time averaging two and a quarter million with unemployment benefit being twenty four shillings per married couple.
Our Location
Arnside itself is a very pretty village which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The promenade is lined with interesting gift shops and scrumptious tea rooms. Listen out for the siren which indicates the Arnside Bore is due, a tidal phenomenon which is a must see! Being part of an AONB it has Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) because of the rare flora and fauna. The rare Duke of Burgundy butterfly can be found at Gait Barrows Reserve, wetland birds and otters can be found at Leighton Moss.
Our Holidays
Thoughout the year, Parkside hosts a wide variety of events and themed holidays including walking holidays, whist holidays, bridge holidays and coach holidays as well as a range of special weekends and short breaks. There are also folk dancing holidays, house parties and special interest holidays, for example gourmet weekends, houses and gardens and fabulous Christmas and New Year breaks.

Our Rooms
Parkside is split into two! We have the ‘original’ house where all the rooms are accessible by stairs. Most of the rooms on this side enjoy views over the bay; some are double aspect which makes them very light and airy. In the new wing all rooms are accessible by lift. Some of these rooms enjoy views over the gardens and bowling green.
We have a mixture of single, double and twin rooms available on both sides of the house. We allow single occupancy at no extra charge if we have no single rooms available for your particular week.
